Actually, a bit of correction is needed..he was initially diagnosed as having ADHD but then later as having a mild development delay (though really, I can't tell the difference!). He is rather active, and the therapists recommended Ritalin but he could be too young for it since he's only three. I may just get in touch with your sister one of these days!

Thanks for sharing Sharon! This gives me more hope!! And God knows I need a LOT of that!anedrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02330193151276358234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7912730.post-1120542957119432132005-07-05T13:55:00.000+08:002005-07-05T13:55:00.000+08:00sharon, I have also alerted someone who is doing a...sharon, I have also alerted someone who is doing a study on this condition as well as on autism. I wonder how much help and support are given to parents in Malaysia?Kak Tehhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00856864485917633260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7912730.post-1120535180463134232005-07-05T11:46:00.000+08:002005-07-05T11:46:00.000+08:00Doey - went back to your site to read about Neurof...Doey - went back to your site to read about Neurofibromatosis. Goodness, you are one brave lady (not that you have any choice in the matter, of course). I'm glad you've written a book about your condition - there are always others who need the information ... and there's also the task of banishing ignorance.bibliobibulihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16456636355933524132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7912730.post-1120529281367132892005-07-05T10:08:00.000+08:002005-07-05T10:08:00.000+08:00One of the symptoms of NF1 is ADHD. :-|One of the symptoms of NF1 is ADHD. :-|Yvonne Foonghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12908132837504150283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7912730.post-1120526226559348012005-07-05T09:17:00.000+08:002005-07-05T09:17:00.000+08:00Glad it helps, Kak Teh. Tess would love to hear from other people with ADHD kids and has a strong connection with this part of the world anyway.

One analogy I read in a book on ADHD - ADHD kids are nature's "hunters" - brave and fearless and fast, as opposed to the safer settled "farmers". Trouble is that we live in farmer societies.bibliobibulihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16456636355933524132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7912730.post-1120490398099122592005-07-04T23:19:00.000+08:002005-07-04T23:19:00.000+08:00Sharon, my niece's son has mild ADHD. My niece reported that he uttered two words recently and that was really a major achievement.
I am happy to read of Alex's progress. Will let my niece know about this.
