How nice to see Leon Wing's short-short appear on the Malaysiakini website. Leon has just joined us as a Quacking Duck (many thanks to the blogger who suggested the name some time back) and last Sunday we did a power of good critiquing.
Sharon, I really have to thank you for inviting me into the Quaking Duck circle last Sunday. I wanted to submit a poem for critique, and you suggested fiction instead. I have been writing, besides non-fiction and articles for magazines,mostly poems, and not too many fiction. For that piece I had Dave Eggers and Dan Rhodes for inspiration, for the short short bit,and a smattering of William Faulkner and Joseph Conrad (the wife killing her husband, from the POV of the husband: some time-shifting here)thrown in.

Dear Leon, you have to decide if you ar a quacking duck or a quaking duck. I hope the former!
Glad you got forced into fiction. The short short genre suits you. Poetry perhaps next time ...
