Twelve steps to Salvation

There is as yet no twelve-step plan for bookaholics. Maybe it's high-time to devise one?

Poor old Leon certainly could do with some help before he starves to death.

There really is NO cure, Sharon. I mean, even I would not be able to resist remaindered books at such low prices. One, they may no longer be able; two, they may be too expensive if still available.

i haven't bought any more little penguin books, but as i've comment on leon's post, they're going at 20% discount at the popular bookstore.

but really i have spent too much on books the last few weeks i have to stop! just the other day i was out and about without any reading material in my bag *gasp* and guess what i did? went straight to the bookstore to get one *sigh*

I always have reading material with me - they're in my PDA, which I always have with me.

Chet, I, too, have reading material in my PDA - hundreds!! I'm manic to the point of having a hard copy AND an ebook of Beryl Bainbridge's 'According to Queeny!'

oh my, but i'm afraid i'm not -that- tech-savvy yet. AND don't want to get started, haha.

i will from now on re-check the bag before going out the door. the bus ride was torture that time ;-)

I had a panic attack just imagining this nightmare scenario, q. *LOL*

I want a PDA!!! Not sure what to buy and have to teach a few more courses and sell a few more articles first, but I'm definitely in the market for one.

sharon, there was a time when my husband will come back with three or four books every other day. Thank God ..no more. Our courtship was conducted between the bookshelves of MPH and other bookshops in Kl and PJ, so much so that whenever one of us go back to Kl alone, we dread going into bookshops as there's something missing. Our house is a library of books, magazines, newspapers, tapes. I always have something to read on the tube in the bus - if not, I'll be reading the tube lines. And thank God too they have poetries in the underground and in some of the stations..they have short stories on big big bill boards - hilarious!
But have you been caught going to the toilet without having a chance to get some form of reading material? That is a nightmare - having to read ingredients on shampoo bottles!

The shameful part is that I know exactly what you mean, Kak Teh!

Hi Adam, it's great to hear from you and I will drop in at your blog. You're welcome to link me.

Sharon - I know a good PDA for you. Let me know when you're ready to buy. We can go to the shops for you to check out a few, and see which one you like, and feel comfortable with.
