What's Your Poetry IQ?

Fancy yourself as a poet or a student of literature? Here's a fun test to find out your poetry IQ. I feel very smug because I got almost top marks. (Should have - I taught literature for how many years?)

Please play with it while I rush to EPF with my old passport, mop the old man's fevered brow, and get the house in some kind of order prior to going off Monday.

Hope he gets well soon...the main thing will be how well his body fights back.

Anyway, the test was ok, compared to the GRE lit test, which looks awfully difficult. I look at a copy of it online and flipped! For an expert like yourself, it will be a nice challenge, I think, or just an easy breeze.

In the mean time, you should rest too, to be able to be in good condition to take care of him. Cheers

I got a magnificent 8 out of 11!!! But sadly, my blunders had more to do with my English than my poetry knowledge...simile, metaphor, conssonance, aliteration...haiyo! thank you sharon for the five minutes of fun and for successfully distracting me from an article that's due today! :)

I got 8 out of 11, too, and I knew where I would not get it right, and these were 3 of the questions, which meant I got 8 out of 8 right of the ones I knew.

Guess I do know something, after all.

*happy*

glad you all did well too!

dreamer idiot - the patient has recovered enough to pick a fight! i bossy-booted him back to the clinic for a second blood-test ignoring the "but i'm feeling better line" because i know it's most dangerous time with the platelet level so low and the risk of internal bleeding. horrible virus.

10 out of 11 - curses! I got the line-count wrong in the Ben Jonson poem. As my mother always used to say when yet again I failed to get 100% in our monthly school tests, Carelessness will be your downfall.

Sometimes I wonder if the beauty is lost in the analysis.
