Dropping Keys

The small man

Builds cages for everyone

He

Knows.

While the sage,

Who has to duck his head

When the moon is low,

Keeps dropping keys all night long

For the

Beautiful

Rowdy

Prisoners.

A very enigmatic poem for me. Indeed, written from a completely different tradition than the English one, which I am only marginally more familiar with.

I love the simplicity and contrast between the 'small' and the sage. Instead of imprisoning people, the wise one helps or rather encourage people to free themselves from the prisons they are in...
"Beautiful / Rowdy / Prisoners" is also wonderfully phrased to convey how free and beautiful these cowered spirits can become.

Nice poem. How 'bout dinner sometime and then we can work out what to do after.

dear bogus ST - what weak minded pleasure are you getting from pretending to be other people on the internet on my blog and (the real) shaolin tiger's?

Very beautiful and eloquent ;o) So nice with that comic you found as well.

That book meme was eye-boggling, wasn't it? I saved it to a text file to pick out the ones I need to read.

Dear Sharon,

Actually the option on your blog is available for anonymous comments or to use a pseudonym and I just used it. I have done the same on all blogs, not just yours, simply because the option is available. I have had my handle used by someone else to comment on other blogs, and I still don't know who it was. There was nothing I could do about it except to change my handle to something else.

annymoys blog reader - peace. you seem to be pretty harmless in the nasty blogger scheme of things (of which i've had some experience)

but aren't there other points more worth making?? i mena really don't you have anything better to do?

it was a bit of a nasty shock yesterday when i saw a comment supposedly from me on shaolin tiger's blog ... especially as you seem bent on implying some kind of ... er ... romantic involvement ...

i let anonymous comments through because folks i know sometimes don't want to sign into blogger ... fair enough ... and most of them put their name at the end of their comments

even when they don't i can pretty much tell by word choice and writing style

i also track all IP's and so does shaolin tiger (hence we are certain of yours)

Dear Sharon,

Sorry you didn't like my comment. Your name was purposely spelled incorrectly so that others would not mistake it as the real you. They would think some brainless gonk wrote it. I was just testing the waters. The internet is so full of people, the more the better in my opinion. It's somewhat interesting to see how someone reacts. But I am sorry you didn't like it. I fully understand your point of view.

I wish I could track IPs, dynamic or otherwise. It would be very interesting. You're absolutely right, I have nothing else better to do. At other times I keep myself happy with food and doing other things in my bedroom.

Call me a simple gonk, but I was just curious as to your real name, Sharon Bakar. I thought the English equivalent would be Sharon Baker. Subconsciously I must've been thinking of you when I wrote those comments on ST's site. I don't know many people in the UK, but I was just thinking of your name. Did you know that the American actress Jeniffer Aniston had to change her name before she became a Hollywood star? Her heritage is Greek and her birth name isn't Jeniffer Aniston. It's a Greek name. She changed it to Jeniffer Aniston in order to assimilate into the US society and possibly Hollywood. I was somewhat just confused as to how you got the name Sharon Bakar.

Sorry for the comments and my curiosity. Hope you're having a wonderful time in Malaysia. I'm sure your readers (first time and others) enjoy your publishing.

Best wishes,
Anonymous Blog Reader

anonymous blog reader - you're very welcome to drop by, read and even remain 'anonymous blog reader'! i'm sad that you haven't much to do ... you need some friends (and some books!) and a mission in life ... not a computer screen

the bakar is part of my husband's name

i've lived in malaysia so long i've really forgotten how to be british ... and yes, love it here, weather, food, people are great ...

Dear Sharon,

I love your blog. I would love to have a huge book collection but I haven't got the cash or a credit card for it.

Hope you are enjoying Malaysia. I think Britain is a very lovely country with much nicer weather than here.

I love my computer screen. I have no mission in life and no friends. I love the internet because one can remain anonymous, but as you said, IPs can be traced.

Cheers,
Anonymous Blog Reader

IPs CAN indeed be tracked. I currently use BlogPatrol.com although it is very often down for "work" but it does work about 70% of the time. I don't use that particular function myself, I use BlogPatrol for something totally different. But, if you want to, you could use it. It also has a function that enables you to block certain IPs from your site. Once again, I don't use that tool but it IS an option. Email me at megbkelso@gmail.com if you have any questions.
