Pictures from La Bodega

Some photos from the other night at La Bodega, all but the first taken by Arnee of British Council. (My efforts were pathetic - blurry profile images of poets with their eyes closed - blame it on the Long Island Iced Tea ...)

No room for even one more ... have you ever seen a poetry reading so packed?
Kutu guy Fahmi Fadzil reads No Exit ...
The sexy Sharanya Manivannan struts her stuff ...
Rahmat Harun sets the world on fire ...
The incomparable Francesca Beard ...

Indeed, Francesca is quite unique! She is full of pizzazz. I am sure, when a little girl, she must have been one of those kids who dream and speak aloud indifferent to the outside world only to catch from time to time its mesmerized stare and with a cute and innocent smile reenters her world as to bring back to us later a glimpse of eternal innonce.

I like Sharanya's poem the most. Poppish and cool. But the ending is too predictable.

Hi Sufian,

Thanks! :)

Just wondering: which poem did you mean?

i know many people who write poetry - but those who'll share? and read them out? :)

oh yeah - saw you the moment i stepped in, actually. you didn't see me cause i was seated at the table in front of the bar, next to ireneq :P I caught some of your open mic too, but had to leave halfway because my friends had to go.
