Everybody should print this out and stick it on their walls. Take it as a manifesto of sorts.

In fact, we should print it out, photocopy it, paste it everywhere, guerrilla style. That'll learn 'em. (Okay, perhaps not but I'm sure it'll be cathartic.)

I'm worried that the core of this problem is lack of respect and appreciation for books, writing, literature, language or even probably knowledge. Along with the lack of respect for other people's property, which only makes it at least doubly worse.

but it was renee koh who wrote this piece on care for books

and it was intended to be cut out of the magazine and pasted up
