Aw Tish ... Who?

Sympozium e-mailed me to say that when he dropped by the British Council Library, Saturday, he noticed a list on the counter where members were invited to put down the titles of books they want BC to order.

He was much tickled to see that someone had requested : "The Silk Tobacco Factory, Aw Tish".

All I can say to that, is Bless You, whoever you are!

And whilst it's true that we haven't come across that particular title yet, Tash Aw's Harmony Silk Factory is there on the shelf large as life, in hardback.

Yes, how embarassing. Luckily the person was not there to realise his mistake in front of everybody? ;D Yesterday at a bookshop, I overheard somebody asking for "The Devil wears Pradi"....All, I can say is, maybe that person is not into fashion. That's okay, neither am I. ;D

Hmmm....dear Tash Aw's mom will be mad knowing that someone changed her son's name.

Anyway, I was at a bookstore when I overheard someone searching for my book, The Sky is Crazy.

She asked the counter staff, "You know, that book about stewardesses?
Can't remember the title laa...but
sounds something like 'The Stewardess is Crazy? "

I was mad and yet tickled. No laa... I didn't go up to her and reveal that I was the stewardess but perfectly sane. lol

Hey, great cover design. Now Aw Tish Oo are obligated to write the novel as the promotion has been done.

glad you like the graphic, but i couldn't make the print bigger on photoshop. funny how cigarette ads get into our subconscious - silk must equal cigarettes

alex - someone certianly should write this book

i laughed at loud at greenbottles title. and yvonne, maybe you are crazier than you look! (am laughing out loud at bits of your book btw - just read the bit about the passenger in the spiderman costume)
