Banned Banner
Midnight Lily and Erna are so incensed by the news about the banning of books that the have set up a blog called Manuscripts Don't Burn to publicise and discuss the banning of books. And the real issue at stake is, as Erna writes, not the books per se but:

I've also been very incensed by all the book-banning happy nuts in the Home Ministry, having written a not very kind piece on my blog criticising this latest crime against the freedom of expression and our right to information. As expected, the government-controlled press has been mum on this... I'm glad Erna and Midnight Lily have already taken the initiative to set up a blog where we can discuss, debate and definitely criticise any book bans. I've been forwarding the list of banned books to all my friends and many of us are rightly angry too!
It'll be a sad, sad day indeed when it becomes a crime to read in this country! We need intelligent, well-read people to lead this country, not narrow-minded, unintelligent people!
thanks, will do. read your blog. well said.
I just picked up the banner and will support this cause. It is ridiculous to ban even breastfeeding books! (I am a strong advocate of breastfeeding, you see.)
my guess is because it had illustrations of boobs and no-one should know what they look like.
