I was browsing the November issue of Indonesian Playboy today (don't ask, okay!) and I'm shocked.You see, there was an article (Potret Kaum Hipster) about the places the happening young Indonesians frequent in Jakarta. And guess what?
There were pictures of crowds of them hanging out ...
... in bookshops! *Gasp*

that reminds me, i've always known for a long time that playboy has some of the best short stories in any monthlies around (yes i occasionally bought this mag when i was a student ...but er... for the stories mind (ya ya...)
and also , another thing...if you're a book addict, there is one very fine little book at the Atria sale " the paper house" by carlos maria dominguez...it started with some lady university lecturer being knocked down by a car while reading emily dickinson's poems and walking along the road...and about this guy carlos - here's a little what the jacket says...a story of literature and obsession...vast book cases fill carlos brauer's rooms from wall to wall and floor to ceiling, forcing his car out of the garage and himself out of his bedroom and into the attic...
i read this fascinating 100 pages or so book in one sitting...
They're probably hanging around waiting to buy their MainLaki magazine...
