The Kuala Lumpur International Book fair opens today and and runs until 6 May at Putra World Trade Centre. This is the 26th year of the event which aims to exhibit latest local and international publications, and serve as a meeting point for publishers, book traders and readers.
The event is served this year by an extremely well-designed website. Go check it out ... and maybe see you there?
If you need any further inducement, Pay Less books has a booth and will be offering generous discounts!

i hope kenny mah can somehow design the poster for the 27th book fest. must we have the twin towers shoved in our face yet again??
We know that the organisers have their fingers on the pulse as the website declares: "Be welcomed by a multicultural society. Here, you will discover a delightful fusion of three main races-Malay, Chinese and Indian."
Naff poster. those books don't look interesting at all -- hahaha 'The Malaysian Bureaucracy'
I went last year and only bought an atlas. A few years ago it was a dictionary set. I don't remember why, but I think the book fair is just disappointing.
but of course, there is always the 'tempting array of exotic Asian cuisine and culture'...
amir - what are the twin towers for if not to appear on posters??
i think i may make the trip. i was there running a workshop for OUP a couple of years back and i bought a brilliant book on writing poetry. i might just go for the gossip!
"Book Empowers" ? is that Austin Powers' brother ? :D
I don't think it's well designed at all :P
