Political Poet

Sincere congrats and much happiness to PM Abdullah Badawi and Jeanne Danker Abdullah for their wedding today.

Works minister Samy Vellu gave the couple a poem which appears to have been ... er ... borrowed from other sources according to a letter on the Malaysiakini website*. I'm sure it's all a misunderstanding as the politician is an accomplished poet who has penned some stirring words of tribute for the PM before.

Postscript:

Looks like MP Chow Kon Yeow was the first to spot the similarity. Dangerous thing Google!

(*Another story via Amir who is my champion story-spotter at the moment!)

Wow! I know I've been so busy of late I haven't even read the newspapers but when I first read this I thought it was an April Fool's lark. Except, you know, it's June.

Gosh, the PM's getting remarried? Whoa... Me doing my airhead thing now..

P.S. Sharon dear, would you happen to have the list of readers for this month's "Readings" --- I might be busy at the end of the month, would be cool to finish the poster design earlier if possible. Cheers! :)

well, i'm not much of a poet, and i have to admit, i'm not an angel when it comes to plagiarism. and nope, not going to justify or defend myself. here's what i think:

1 line of similarity equals coincidence

2 lines of similarities equal an accident

3 lines of of similarities equal a miracle

4 lines of similarities... quit writing.

i'm was positive that he sedut a lot of money, but hair? then again, that might be where all the money went haha.

That hair is so scary and awful that it can't be his own lah...
On the other hand, what's SCARIER is that it COULD be his own!

let's collect some money, steal a strand of his hair, and do a dna test to confirm that, shall we?

the things these people do to get attention. he is the kind that likes to lick a superior's backside. much like some anime characters that i've seen before.

"He loves licking backsides so much he'd bend over to lick his own." Howzzat for a first line for a novel? :-))))

i'm seriously laughing here, and would love to have a copy of that novel if it's ever released XD.
