I'll be there. Have also emailed my translator and invited her along.

i wish i could get out of this so i could go to karen armstrong ... it seems so unfair that the two things clash

Maybe MPH can postpone this?

bibliobibuli said...

can't. i asked. i also asked if someone else could do it for me, but i don't think there's anyone else willing to. i think most people will be at the karen armstrong thing. (why aren't you going??)

Maybe it'll be videotaped?

Oh yah, hor ... I'm sure there'll be some blog reports about it.

Have a good trip. KB, huh? I was there years ago as part of a press fam trip organised by the then Tourist Development Corporation. One memory of that particular leg of the trip - smacking a roach crawling up the bathroom wall.

It probably is, greenbottle. I speak from experience going back 26 years.

am back! with a bag full of keropok, seruding and dodol. going to go and have a mandi bunga (flower bath) with this big bath of fragrant fresh blossoms ... ylang ylang (cempaka), jasmine, rose, gardenia and bergamot (limau perut) ... who needs aromatherapy? also have a kind of tree bark that is used as shampoo ...

had such fun in the wet market there talking to all the elderly aunties and uncles ...

That was quick! Just a day trip? Write about your conversations with the Makciks and Pakciks! Would love to read/hear it. Do it for Greenbottle.
I might come for the MPH thing as I'm maidless this weekend and they might not let a 4 year old into the Karen Armstrong talk. I'm still checking. Not that you're second choice, no, no, not at all...

bibliobibuli said...

haha. i am my OWN second choice, so i don't blame you.

my conversation was mostly trying to fend off all the attempts to sell me mountains and mountains of keropok and asking about how to use all the strange ingredients i'd never seen before ... i must go back with my camera
