Bookmark Bliss

Chas Newkey-Burden talks about his love for the book mark on the Guardian blog and finds there are plenty of fanatics out there, including Dutchman Frank Divendal, who owns over 80,000 of them. There are some more really nice examples here, and a shop dedicated solely to them.

I am very attached to the bookmarks that wander into my life but just leave them for safe keeping inside the books on my shelves. So if I have a collection at all, it is a very accidental one.

We talked about bookmarks before not so long ago.

I have received bookmarks from Amazon, Acmamall and also Alibris when I order from them. Do you get any from AbeBooks?

not from abebooks because the books come from all over the world but sometimes the participating bookshops put them in and those are really nice!

i think it would be nice to collect up some local book marks and send them to collectors ... esp those sold by blind people, i'm a sucker for those

Hardly a collection! Mine's usually left here and there though I have a nice metal Beauty and the Beast bookmark stuffed into my Georgette Heyers.

I'm a proud bookmark collector :). Although I don't archive my collection so well :( - also because I use the bookamrks :)

I have a habit of losing bookmarks. I had one that survived a few books, but then it got lost somewhere. Bought a new one at kino, let's see how long that lasts.
