Here's another event you lovers of the spoken word should note in your diaries:
A night of spoken word, featuring Scream Blue Murmur, a group of performance poets from Derry, Belfast, England; Scotland and New York. And the evening organised by (big drum roll) The Literary Activists :
Gordon Hewitt, one of the members of the group describes their work as "not strictly poetry" and "not strictly anything else either" so expect surprises!
Also performing at this event are Malaysian poets Bernice Chauly, Elaine Foster, The Happy Unicorn Collective, Jerome Kugan, Reza Rosli and George Wielgus.
... a shape-shifting group of people who are dedicated to kicking life into the Malaysian literary scene. They include journalist Daphne Lee, lit blogger Sharon Bakar, poet Bernice Chauly, and bright-young-things Patricia Low and Priya K.Power to the poets!

These KL events leave this JB boy green with envy...
i'm sure.
people like daphne and priya and pat and bernice and jasmine low and meself started to organise events because nothing was happening unless we made it happen ...
question - can you see yourself becoming a literary activist? organising events of your own?
we can try to help you if you do
great artwork! who made the poster?
the multi-talented priya k i think ... lovely, isn't it?
That's actually not a bad idea... any leads on how it can be done?
you can contact me by email and we can knock some ideas around. but basically can you get an audience together and a nice space for things to happen?
Looking forward to this. Cute poster too.
Shap shifting ? I hope they turn into leopards. I like leopards.
