Is this the biggest cock-up at a literary awards ceremony ever? Warning - this video on the BBC website is almost too painful to watch. Found via Lindsay Irvine's post on The Guardian blog.

It was an honest mistake. Maybe he didn't know he was supposed to announce the first runner up too...
The comments thread at Guardian rocks! Meanwhile, Tom Burroughs' site was overloaded with traffic and is currently available. Even bad publicity is publicity!
