Booker Hits 40

It was nearly called the Bucklesbury Prize, it's now forty years old, has managed to stoke up plenty of controversy in that time, and is probably the world's most recognised literary prize.

Yep, the Booker hits early middle age and celebrates it's birthday with an exhibition at London's V&A Museum. John Coldstream looks at :

The shortlist for this year's prize is announced on 9th September.

Perhaps it's some kind of in-joke but the comments by Susan Hill (1975) and Francis King (1976) have almost the same final paragraph.
