Send Them Stories Out!

The 2007 Commonwealth Short Story Competition is now accepting enties. Ist prize - a cool £2,000! Deadline 1 May 2007.

Don't forget too that the editors of Elarti want your fiction (in English and Malay) and the closing date for Silverfish New Writing 7 is March 31st.

600 words? Wahlau, that's really a short story. Perhaps careful, artsy compositions is what will eventually stand out.

600 words is a very short, focused piece with nothing wasted, a very intersting challenge. i'm up for it too!

Juria - anyone from a Commonwealth country may join if I'm not mistaken (it's organised by the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association). It's a pretty tough competition actually, every year you have to compete with thousands of entries!

Sounds like the 600-word short story competition is more for short stories to be read over the air. The other criterion is read within 4 minutes 30 seconds. This is interesting.

That's what.. a whole twelve thousand ringgit ? that's a dishwasher's salary for a whole year, imagine. You'll be rich :)

PS. Jus taking the mickey LOL have fun, Rm12,000 can buy a whole lot of teh tarik + roti :)
