Tan Twan Eng recommends ten best reads from "the other side of the world" on the
Book Depository blog - and it's a very interesting and eclectic list which includes some of my favourites (
A Thousand Years of Good Prayers,
Out in the Midday Sun,
An Artist of the Floating World and of course
The Malayan Trilogy) and some I haven't got round to yet.
Do go take a look!

The "do take a look" link is not working :-(
yup. y?
Can anyone recommend what would be a good Malaysian story to be adapted into a play?
sorry guys! i sometimes get a gremlin creep in when i don't close up all the spaces in the code, and i shoulda checked ...
Out in the Midday Sun is good! Glad to know that there are still people reading and appreciating the works of Han Suyin. She has written a breathless series of books. True, they are hard to read but well worth your effort and time.
