Armstrong Unbanned

Sometimes common sense wins.

I learned from Roosfa Hashim's article in Utusan Malaysia today that Karen Armstrong's A History of God which was officially banned in May 2005 is now now longer on the banned books list and is beginning to reappear in the bookshops.

That's nice. But have they unbanned her biography of Muhammad. That's the book I want to read.

Great news! This is a book I want.

And at a certain bookstore here, we're celebrating by giving it 20% discount. ;-)

Should never even have been banned in the first place!

I saw copies of it on display at both MPH and Borders at The Curve this afternoon. They obviously had stock and the book was just banned and they didn't have to surrender their stock.

doubt it, chet. books aren't warehoused that long usually.

Now MPH and/or Karen Armstrong should have a "BANNED IN MALAYSIA !" sticker on the book :)

Why this book should be banned? No need to do this. Let ppl think & read. After all, this is a kind of democracy, rite?

For me I believe in Islam & will be forever.

Two books, The Missing Page and Ransom By Douglas Chua, have been banned (too) by KDN Johor Bahru, Johor
