The Versions of Pi

Back in November I mentioned that the Times were holding a competition to find a new illustrator for Yann Martell's Booker winning Life of Pi. You can check out the finalists here. Each one now has to submit three more illustrations for the books before a winner is chosen.

The standard is very high. But I must confess that I like the illustration by Victor Tkachenko best of the bunch:

Sophia Hanover's illustration looks promising. I liked Victor Tkachenko's too. Original and not so children's-bookish.

I've heard that it's planned to be filmed with M. Night Shyamalan at the helm. Not sure though if it pushed through.

sky - one of the artists was from the philippines - did you notice? ... i'd like to see this book filmed, but the tiger will have to be a very good actor

Sharon, until you said it, I haven't noticed before. Now I'm in a dilemma: should I root for somebody out of national pride or personal choice? Hehe.
