Hey Sharon, I was just at MPH @ The Spring and they don't know about this. Then again, a lot of people are flooded in their homes or out of the office. The nice lady I spoke to only just made it to work today. But they'll call me once they iron out the details.

Thanks Sharon for mentioning this and for Gette for highlighting the flooding problems in Kuching. So for those interested in the workshop, be a little patient.

Meanwhile, I'm working on ideas to present for the workshop, for improving the story. I'm recommending that each participant bring the first two pages of their story, which we'll workshop -- most unpublished stories seem to go wrong in the first few pages. Wrong starting place, or wrong point of view character, or wrong narrative voice, or vague descriptions or settings (or lack there of!) or the opposite, overblown descriptions and no forward movement in the story. Fix these and carry it through the story and the story improves tremendously! (And you save a lot of wasted time writing the wrong version of your story!)

All the best.

Sharon,
Thanks. Perhaps MPH will spring for me! Let's see how Kuching goes. But with all those talented writers in KL, it would be a great, lively time workshopping the beginning of those stories to get them ready for the MPH-Alliance bank contest, especially if we leave our egos (and defensiveness) at home and come to learn and to help each other! Magic can happen!
